Living in the movies

“Modern women live in the movies … men don’t.”  This was a random quote by an annonymous person i found online.
Ive been hearing it alot lately, almost like it is a day in day out ordeal: women acting out and doing crazy things in the name of love, the chance of finding her one and only prince and living out her long life dream of a happily ever after. They now compare every little part of their life to the movies. Why cant they treat a guy like crap and still come back years later, apologise and he would take her back, because she was the only thing he could think of. Limited goals? They tend to agree.

However, despite this being a limited perspective to what life is many single women feel like they’d better hike up their skirts, lower their shirts, paint their lips and sway provocatively out into the big bad world (or the nearest Club) in an attempt to find him, flirt with him, bag him, bed him and marry him as quickly as possible all in a nights work , And of course that is all before all the good ones get snapped up by other women, our young eggs shrivel  or we become spinsters who are left on the shelf for all eternity.

With all the royal wedding fever everywhere we look, many women all over the world are thinking about their own fairytale wedding – or lack of it– so much that it has become an obssession.

I am writing this not out of bitterness, but simply out of curiosity as to why this has become the ONLY topic alot of girlfriends speak about, even when we are out for a girls night on the town. Which in essence should be about us girls, and a celebration of our singledom, attached statuses , jobs etc. It is simply a celebration of us in all our forms and statuses .

I mean there really is absolutely nothing wrong in knowing what you want and going after it. But that's the thing , all I see is a horrendous amount of nagging, and barely any form of action or acceptance.

Think about it,

Love,

Fearless
