The Time of My Life

So a while back I read a book called  : The time of my life By Cecelia Ahern. The summary of the plot is as follows:

"Dear Lucy Silchester, You have an appointment for Monday 27th July 2011. Yours sincerely, Life. Lucy Silchester has received an appointment card. Actually, she has been invited along a few times to this appointment, but she keeps brushing the gold embossed envelope under the shag pile carpet. She has taken her eye off the ball and has busied herself with work (a job she does not love), helping out friends, fixing her car, feeding her cat, seeing her family and devoting her time to their life dramas. But Lucy is about to find out that this is one appointment that she cannot miss. And she cannot escape it either. Her Life is about to catch up with her in the most surreal of ways."

There is a magical/imaginative side to the book which I enjoyed. It was a slightly unusual idea, about meeting someone who was your 'Life' I certainly enjoyed this unusual idea - sometimes I think it would be a very useful meeting to have. The story was believable, a girl who felt sorry for herself, was working to pay the rent but not taking pleasure in her work, going through the motions of the day and not much else, something I am sure many of us can relate too.  It is a story many of us could relate to and I am sure many of us will take points from the story away with us after reading this book.

The theme of the book is about giving up on life: even if you give up on life, it doesn’t give up on you. It encourages you to take care of your life and give it the love and attention you give to your loved ones.

It Just gets me wondering, I wish my Life would come and Face me. I totally need to Own up to it and give it what it deserves. I am always telling people to never sell themselves short, while i in turn am always selling my self short at every turn.

Much Love,

Fearless
