AUB & Beirut {Interchangeable Concepts}
Beirut is my soul-mate, my other-half. It always puts me into perspective when I’m lost or confused. It brings
out this side of me that no other place or no other person can. My alter ego
was born there too, her name is Sasha. She loves to party and
loves to have a good time. She speaks her mind and falls in love a little too
quickly. She’s independent and doesn’t give a shit what other people think. She’s
unique, confident, quirky and really funny. She can be aggressive and feisty at
many times of the day. Oh and she is bodyacious and has amazing hair!
I'm in the office today,a very rare occasion as i am always deployed at some client site. And Ive just received my copy of Main Gate Magazine from my University in Beirut. Why is it Every time I receive Main Gate Magazine from Lebanon to my Office, I get this pang of ache to AUB. I'm flipping through the pages, and all I can hear in my head is : I WANT TO GO BACK TO AUB.
I will expect this ache to get stronger, as always...
It's like a curse that is divine, it keeps me tied down to my roots in Beirut. Even though AUB was my top choice university leaving highschool, however Beirut was not my top choice of a place to live, it was my dad's. I think he wanted me to become patriotic or something, well guess what, i not only became patriotic, but now there's this constant feeling that something is constantly missing from me. Pleased to Announce That AUB has made me fall in love with my country, and I can safely say I belong.
Much Love,
Fearless
