SuperMan's Daughter
Loaded with responsibility I am always not so sure i can pull it off, and then i see this light that makes me think: Just maybe. I am still in a Just maybe Phase and i am not exactly certain when it'll end. I'd like to think i was superman's daughter. That way I'd be invincible, and have everything turn out just the way i want it in the battle of good Vs. Evil.
I am Superman's Daughter, but a different kind of superman. The kind that has taxed his health to get me where I am today. The kind that has given up money, sleep, opportunities, food and always his jackets when am cold...He's my kind of superman.
A Father is maybe the least appreciated member of a family, not because it is done on purpose but because mostly he is the silent type that is content to see you happy. He is content to hear you ramble on and on, without saying a single word.
SuperMan Daddy doesn't have super strength , he cannot melt things with just his pupils. He can't fly or see through walls (though at this point in life I'm pretty sure he has eyes in the back of his head). No, my dad is superhuman in ways much cooler than that.
He's the constant rock that has given me stability in my life. He's the man who'd bought me my first bike, spending hours following me just to teach me how to ride it, the man that took me to my first swimming class at the age of 3 or 4, my first squash lesson, my first football lesson and so much more. The man who used to pick me up and carry me inside when I fell asleep during car rides, the man who to an embarrasing extent was and is so proud to say "That's my daughter".
My dad has shaped who I am. I am my mother's daughter , however so many traits i take after my dad. Growing up I always knew what he meant without him having to say it, but just by watching him: carry yourself like you're somebody so others will know that you're somebody, too. I knew my dad had always wanted to give the best to me and my siblings because he'd had to work for everything when he was a boy.
But throughout all the hardships, he's never once given up and that is why my dad is so important to me. I look at my superman, and I see all I can be and so much more. I hope others have as good a role model as I've had for the past 23 years and beyond; I hope others have their own Superman in their lives.
"Is it a bird? Is it a plane?" No, that's My DAD. If I am hungry to be fearless it is simply to see and learn and improve all the things we once spoke of.
Love,
Fearless
